On Friday, May 17th, Industrial Specialty Services (ISS) attended the sold-out 37th Annual Safety Excellence Awards at Moody Gardens in Galveston, TX. With over 2,000 people in attendance, both owner companies and contractor company representatives came together to celebrate a night of safety excellence.

When the night was over, ISS/LeakSealers took home the “Best in Class” award for our category (Hard Crafts), and the prestigious “Most Nominations” award which identifies only one company, across all categories, who received the most owner company nominations. ISS set a new record with an unprecedented fifty (50) award nominations. According to the Industry Business Roundtable, this exclusive award represents a “consistent safety culture” with “world-class safety excellence at a high level across multiple work sites, clients, and industries.”

The May 17th awards banquet was a culmination of a months-long award process that began in January 2024, when 117 owner companies submitted 379 contractor company nominations. These contractor companies each provided an initial audit submission, and in February 2024, 55 contractor companies making up 190.5 million work hours, were named as Finalists. These Finalist companies proceeded into the next phase of the audit process which consisted of a field audit. From February to April 2024, each Finalist company welcomed a team of 8-12 auditors who performed an intensive review of their safety programs & records, and a field verification audit which also included employee interviews.

The ”Best in Class” and “Most Nominations” recognition highlight the hard work and dedication that our employees and leadership team have poured into building a strong safety culture with robust programs, systems, and processes. We are truly honored to have been recognized and thank our many employees who remain dedicated to safety, day in and day out, as well as our many owner company customers who thought highly enough of us to nominate us for these esteemed awards.
